Discover the city as a game
CuriFox builds a walking guide through the wonderful places around you — historic corners, hidden landmarks, letting you solve challenges, earn coins, and unlock new cities as you go
How it worksSee it in action
What is CuriFox?
CuriFox is a free guide to the city you live in or the one you are visiting. Tell it where you want to start and where you want to go, and it draws a walking route through the most interesting places in between.
Every stop comes with a short story and a small visual riddle, so a normal walk becomes a quiet adventure through the culture and history of your streets.
How it works
-
Pick two points
Tap a start and a destination on the map — or ask for a round trip that brings you back home. CuriFox connects remarkable places into one walkable path and shows you the way.
-
Or choose from hundreds of existing routes
Find an existing route that suits your mood – a quick coffee break, a deep dive into the history of your district, or a challenging, quiz-level route for the intellectually curious
-
Walk, discover and earn
At each place you reach, unlock its story and a small question about what you see. Answer questions, collect coins and gems, and finish the route with a final quiz about the district. Unlock other cities with steps made during your walks.
-
Unlock any area and schedule routes
You can unlock any area, if it's not a big city or not officially available yet. With points available around you, set up a schedule to get new routes through them any time you usually walk: with a dog, a child, jogging, or just a nice walk alone.
Economics
You can walk every route and read every story without paying a cent. After registering, you receive enough coins for several routes. By completing routes and answering questions, you earn more coins. As you walk, your steps contribute to a journey toward the next city, which you can unlock once you reach it.
Of course, you can accelerate your progress, instantly unlock cities, and access premium routes by purchasing gems. But even gems can sometimes be earned as a reward for your efforts!
- No subscription to walk and explore.
- Works in your language across the cities we cover.
- Built on open data, given back to the commons.
Ideas for your next walk
- Frankfurt layover: is there time to see the city? Frankfurt Airport is one of the closest big airports to its city centre in Europe: the S-Bahn takes about 15 minutes to the old town. Whether a layover is long enough depends less on the distance than on passport control and the way back through security. Here is the honest arithmetic, and what to do with the time you have.
- Low-budget team event in Frankfurt: the 60-minute team duel, from 149 € for the whole team A team event does not have to take half a day or a four-figure budget. In the team duel, two teams start at the same point, walk the same loop in opposite directions, unlock places on the way and solve riddles about them. The first team to finish wins, but every wrong or skipped riddle adds penalty time, so the fastest walkers do not automatically win: the smartest team does. A guided city walk, a quiz and a friendly race in one, and it ends where everyone can sit down together. 60 minutes, in any district, no host, one flat price per group. For companies, for friends, for birthdays and as a gift.
- Unlock any area: a small adventure five minutes from your door Your own neighbourhood, your village, the place you are visiting: pick an area on the map and CuriFox builds routes there. Since October 2026 the app is no longer limited to the big cities. And if you like, it sends you a new route in your area every day.
