What are coins and how do I earn them?
Coins are the game currency. You do not buy them, you earn them by walking, and you spend them on new routes. A route costs 10 coins.
Where coins come from
Every successful action gives coins, always the same number: reach a station +1, riddle correct +2, vote on a question +1, finish a route +2 bonus, guess the hidden place +4, contribute a new place +5. A six-stop route answered well returns more than the 10 coins it cost. If you walk, you do not run dry.
What coins are spent on
Exactly one thing: building a new route, 10 coins, however long it is and however many stops it has. The coins are not refunded at the end.
Not enough coins?
Finish a route you already have, or exchange gems for coins: 1 gem gives 10 coins, which is exactly one route. See Gems.
