Our social mission

We are building a digital layer of urban culture.

We document places that may disappear.

A living record of the city

Cities change faster than our memory of them. A shop closes, a façade is renovated, a quiet square is rebuilt — and the small stories attached to those places fade with them. CityFox writes them down while they are still here, so the texture of a neighbourhood is not lost the moment it changes.

We give data back

What we learn does not stay locked inside an app. Corrections, missing places, and details our community uncovers flow back into OpenStreetMap, and the photographs we gather are contributed to Wikimedia Commons. The commons made CityFox possible; we pay it forward.

Free routes for schools

A class should be able to explore its own city without a budget line. We offer free routes for schools, so a history lesson can happen on the street where history actually took place.

Partnership with cities

We work with municipalities, cultural institutions, and local officials to surface the places that matter to a community — and to make sure the record we keep serves the people who live there.

Walk with us

Every route you finish helps document a place. Open the app and start your first walk.
